Consultation services may include the following: 

Record & Program Review

  • Detailed accounts of your child’s goals and ABA program.
  • Explanations for why certain programs are in the ABA program.
  • Examples of what certain programs look like when a behavior therapist runs them.
  • Parent Training so that everybody “is on the same page” regarding how the programs are being run.

Direct observation of student

  • This can be done in multiple settings (school, community, home, social groups, etc.).
  • Observations will be done in the least invasive way possible for the student and parent.

How to navigate the IEP meeting process

  • Step-By-Step breakdown of what a parent can expect in an IEP.
  • Explanation of the service providers attending an IEP (and what their role is).
  • Discussion of the different types of IEPs that are done.
  • Topics are generally discussed at an IEP.
  • What happens if terms are agreed upon at an IEP meeting.
  • Steps taken if things are not resolved/agreed upon at an IEP meeting.

Assistance with the development of IEP goals and objectives

  • A broad approach is taken here so that the entire picture of the child can be considered.
  • Meeting with parents, school staff, psychologists, and other staff on the “IEP Team” so
